How it works

How Does Cardio Clear 7 Work? CoQ10 100 mg Plus 2 Add-Ons

Quick answer

Cardio Clear 7 rests on one main idea: CoQ10 helps cells make energy, and heart muscle uses a lot of it. Shilajit is added on the claim that it helps CoQ10, and PQQ is sold for cell energy too. Each idea comes from work on single ingredients. Nobody has run a study on the finished capsule.

01At a glance

Key facts

  • The core idea: CoQ10 carries energy along a chain inside mitochondria and also acts as an antioxidant.
  • One capsule lists 100 mg CoQ10, 80 mg shilajit extract and 10 mg PQQ.
  • The brand photo shows ubidecarenone printed on the capsules, which is the name for ubiquinone, the most common CoQ10 form.
  • The shilajit booster idea comes from rats and test tubes, not people.
  • Statins lower the body's own CoQ10, which is why statin users ask about it. Trials on muscle aches disagree.
  • CoQ10 dissolves in fat, so a meal with some fat is a sensible time to take the capsule.

02The idea

How is CoQ10 supposed to work in the body?

Every cell burns fuel in tiny structures called mitochondria. CoQ10 is one of the parts that carries energy along that chain. It also works as an antioxidant (NCI PDQ - Coenzyme Q10).

Your body makes its own CoQ10. Levels can fall with age, and statin medicines lower them too. The heart beats all day, so its muscle holds a lot of mitochondria. That is the logic behind most heart claims for CoQ10.

The biology is sound. What is not settled is whether an extra capsule changes anything in a healthy adult. That second step is a question for trials, not for theory.

03Which form

Which form of CoQ10 is in Cardio Clear 7?

The store lists CoQ10 without naming a form. A brand photo shows Co Q10 and the word ubidecarenone printed on the capsules. Ubidecarenone is the chemical name for ubiquinone, the most common form in supplements.

The other main form is ubiquinol. We compare the two in a separate guide. For this product, the photo points to ubiquinone, but your bottle's panel is the final word.

04Shilajit

What is the shilajit in Cardio Clear 7 supposed to add?

The store says the extract boosts the efficiency of CoQ10. That is a brand claim, and we report it without repeating it as fact (Simple Promise store listing).

The study behind it gave rats a purified shilajit compound along with CoQ10. Total CoQ in the liver rose from 19.41 to 25.03 nmol/g. In the heart it went from 35.69 to 36.99. Blood levels showed no real shift (Bhattacharyya 2009 - shilajit and CoQ).

No person took part. The capsule holds 80 mg of a whole extract, not that single compound. Human shilajit trials used 250-500 mg a day and measured strength and testosterone (Keller 2019 - shilajit strength RCT) (Pandit trial - shilajit testosterone).

05PQQ

Where does PQQ fit in the Cardio Clear 7 formula?

PQQ is the smallest part at 10 mg. Sellers pitch it as a helper for the cell's power plants, said to help build and guard mitochondria. That makes it a neighbor of CoQ10 on paper.

FDA sent no-questions letters about PQQ disodium salt in drinks, at up to 8 mg and 5-20 mg per serving. Those letters cover beverages. They do not review any capsule (FDA GRN 625 - PQQ disodium salt) (FDA GRN 641 - PQQ disodium salt).

The one human trial we found used 20 mg a day for 12 weeks and tested memory, not the heart (Food Funct 2023 - PQQ 20 mg trial). A 2024 review calls long-term safety data scarce (Yan 2024 - PQQ review).

06Statins

Why do people on statins ask about CoQ10 pills?

Statins block a step the body uses to make CoQ10, so blood levels drop. A review of 12 trials with 1,776 people confirmed the drop (Qu 2018 - Statins lower CoQ10 levels).

Whether adding CoQ10 eases statin muscle aches is less clear. One review of 6 trials found no real benefit. Another of 12 trials found less pain, with very uneven results (Banach 2015 - CoQ10 statin myopathy) (Qu 2018 JAHA - CoQ10 statin symptoms).

The brand does not claim a statin benefit. Still, if you take a statin, this is a question for your doctor. If a pill was prescribed for you, a capsule from a web store is no reason to skip it.

07In practice

How does one Cardio Clear 7 capsule fit into a day?

  1. Read the bottle

Match the panel to the store amounts: 100 mg, 80 mg and 10 mg.

  2. Pick a meal

Choose one you rarely skip. Fat in the meal helps CoQ10 dissolve.

  3. Take one capsule

Do not double up after a missed day.

  4. Review at 30 and 90 days

Log how you feel and any home readings, then share the log with your doctor.

A mechanism is a reason to run a study. It is not a result. The FTC expects health claims to rest on solid human trials, and animal or test-tube work alone does not meet that bar (FTC - Health Products Compliance Guide).

09FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does CoQ10 work?

CoQ10 helps carry energy along the chain inside mitochondria, and it acts as an antioxidant. The body makes its own supply.

Which CoQ10 form does Cardio Clear 7 use?

The capsule print on the brand photo reads ubidecarenone, which is ubiquinone. The store listing only says CoQ10, so check your panel.

Does shilajit really boost CoQ10?

Not in any human study we found. The idea comes from rat and test-tube work, and the capsule holds 80 mg of extract.

Is PQQ proven for heart health?

No. The one human trial we found used 20 mg a day for memory. We found no heart trials of PQQ.

Do statins lower CoQ10?

Yes. A review of 12 trials with 1,776 people found statins lower blood CoQ10. Whether more CoQ10 eases muscle aches is unsettled.

Should I take the capsule with food?

A meal is the easier choice. The store says with a meal, the info page allows either, and CoQ10 dissolves in fat.

10Bottom line

Our view

The logic behind Cardio Clear 7 is neat and easy to follow. Cells need energy, CoQ10 helps make it, and two add-ons are said to lend a hand.

But a neat story is not a tested one. Only the CoQ10 part has real human research, and that research is mixed. The shilajit and PQQ parts are early, at amounts under the studied doses.

Take the capsule as a modest daily habit if you choose to. Ask your pharmacist first if you take warfarin, a statin, blood pressure medicine or insulin. Cardio Clear 7 is not FDA approved, and no dietary supplement is.
